'We Have Grit' - Original Painting - Large Feminist Wall Art

I was binge-watching cartoons with my little one and I stumbled upon an epic quote from a character: "We Don't Quit, We Have Grit." It was the ultimate dose of excitement and empowerment (those shows can be pretty grim sometimes!!), and it inspired me to create this piece. My handwriting is a disaster, so I used stencils for the text. The painting itself was made with layers upon layers, using an array of brushes and tools to add texture and dimension. As for the color scheme, it just screamed "LOUD and empowering" at me - exactly the energy I wanted to radiate out into the world.

It's a large painting because I love to work on a bigger scale. It allows me to be bold with shapes, marks and colours and it really becomes a statement piece, rather than a tiny artwork that you have to squint to see in full detail.

It hung in a gallery for a couple of weeks, and didn't sell, but I was still proud that people would be able to see my work and I'm still proud of this artwork to this day.

I hope it finds a loving forever home with someone who resonates with the energy of the piece.
